
An open-air screening of the documentary Yallah Gaza (France, 2023), directed by French filmmaker Roland Nurier, was held on July 29, 2026, at the Philosophenturm of the University of Hamburg as part of the “Freiluftkino gegen Austerität” event series.
The event featured an introductory presentation by Dr. Wesam Amer, Former Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Languages at the University of Gaza. Attendees gathered to watch the documentary, which explores the history of Palestine and Gaza through interviews with historians, artists, political figures, and civil society representatives from Gaza, Israel, France, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations.
Released in 2023, Yallah Gaza examines key historical developments shaping the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including the British Mandate period, the establishment of Israel, and subsequent political and social developments affecting Palestinian communities. The film also highlights Gaza’s cultural heritage and the experiences of its residents.
